THE ASSOCIATION FOR THE ASSESSMENT OF LEARNING IN HIGHER EDUCATION
is pleased to announce its
FIRST ANNUAL CONFERENCE
“The Practice of Assessment”
June 5-7, 2011
Lexington, Kentucky
The Preliminary Schedule is Now Available (below)
The Association for the Assessment of Learning in Higher Education (AALHE), with the sponsorship and support of the University of Kentucky, will present its first conference in June in Lexington, Kentucky. The conference, like the Association, has as its primary focus the practice of the assessment of student learning as a strategy to improve student learning. Thus it is open to all who are engaged in learning assessment—the faculty, administrators, Student Affairs staff, institutional researchers, and others in higher education who collect, analyze, and use assessment data to improve student learning.
The conference is designed, like the AAHE Assessment Forum conferences of the past, to facilitate dialogue within and across these groups of practitioners, and so it welcomes submissions from many different perspectives and in many different formats. In addition to the two plenary sessions and many concurrent sessions, the conference is open to sessions in other formats as well: workshops, topical roundtables, open discussions, and innovative approaches to conversations and debates about student learning. The schedule is designed to be open to a range of different session time frames and formats.
The conference will begin on Sunday, June 5 at the conference hotel, the Lexington Hyatt Regency, and continue on the campus of the University of Kentucky on Monday and Tuesday.
Rooms at the Hyatt cost $129. All reservations must be made through the Hotel’s Reservation Department by calling 859-253-1234 or 800-233-1234.
